What We Do in the Shadows spoilers follow.
The thirst for What We Do in the Shadows was so strong that FX commissioned a fifth and sixth season of the vampy mockumentary series before the fourth instalment hit our screens.
"There's a lot of life left in our favourite vampires from Staten Island, and FX couldn't be more thrilled to commit to two additional seasons of this phenomenal series," FX Entertainment president Nick Grad said in a statement at the time.

"What We Do in the Shadows excels on every level, from the brilliant cast and surprising guest stars to the producers, writers, directors and crew. We can't wait for everyone to enjoy season four, knowing that the next two are on the way."
Following season five's eventful finale, all eyes are now on what lies ahead for our immortal housemates. So, what can we expect from season six, and when can we expect it?
Here's everything you need to know.
What We Do in the Shadows season 6 potential release date: When will it air?
While there is definitely more What We Do in the Shadows in the works, it comes with a bittersweet caveat, as in December it was reported that the upcoming sixth season will also be its last.
In an interview with Screen Rant in February, Harvey Guillén, who plays Guillermo, reflected on how he felt about the show coming to an end.
He said: "I mean, it's sad. We're all really sad, but I think it's the perfect amount of time. Think about it. Six seasons is a long time. Altogether, from the pilot until when we end the show, it'll be about seven years of our lives. Seven years of our lives is a long time to commit to a show that we love.
"We give it our best, but then eventually you never want to be on a show that overstays its welcome, or a show that becomes like, 'Oh, is that still on?' I'm proud to say that none of our seasons have ever made you feel like that. If anything, it makes people want more."
He continued: "You never want to jump the shark. So, I think we're really proud of the work that we have done and continue to do, and I think this last season is going to be the cherry on top. People are going to be like, 'You know what? Yeah, that's the way to end this journey'. I'm excited and also sad."
Production on the final season will have no doubt been delayed by last year's Hollywood strikes, which means the new episodes may not hit our screens until late 2024 or even 2025.
But progress is now being made, and we know that filming is now underway in Toronto. In March, Guillén posted a photo on Instagram from the set that suggested filming was soon coming to an end, with the caption, "so long farewell... only a few weeks left".
Later, he posted another photo from outside the famous mansion, and wrote: "It's official, we have seen the exterior of the mansion for the last time... so I had to say goodbye. We still have a few weeks of filming left, but we are wrapped with the outside of the mansion."
No, we're not ready to say goodbye either, *sobs*.
What We Do in the Shadows season 6 cast: Who's returning?
The main cast will all return for season six. Kayvan Novak will be back as Nandor, along with Matt Berry as Laszlo, Harvey Guillén as Guillermo, Natasia Demetriou as Nadja, Mark Proksch as Colin and Kristen Schaal as The Guide.
As ever, we can also expect plenty more high-profile cameos. Previous seasons have featured stars like Dave Bautista, Nick Kroll, Tilda Swinton, Sofia Coppola and Mark Hamill (!), to name just a few.
What We Do in the Shadows season 6 plot: What will happen?
Although Guillermo finally fulfils his life-long dream of becoming a vampire after Derek turns him, he ultimately decides that killing humans and drinking blood isn't for him. Fair enough.
Realising that his former familiar isn't cut out to be a creature of the night, Nandor restores Guillermo's humanity in the season-five finale by putting a stake through Derek's heart. But don't fret, Derek is brought back to life by the necromancer. As a zombie. So, kind of alive.
Teasing how Guillermo's transformation will affect his relationship with Nandor moving forward, co-executive producer Yana Gorskaya told TV Insider: "Well, you'll find out when we get to season six, but I mean, Paul Simms and the writers are so good at taking it where you maybe don't expect it to go.
"And I think with these will-they-or-won't-they type relationships, oftentimes you don't actually want the thing you think you want, and it may be more interesting to take it in other directions, but I'm not going to spoil any of that because that's where we're going."
In an interview with Deadline in January, Guillén gave a taste of what fans can expect from Guillermo in the final instalment, following the events of season five.
He said: "We start where we left off, and sometimes dreams and aspirations don't turn out the way we want them to. But I think that's the whole point of rebirth, right? It's like a renaissance, it's happening again, and you take a new direction, new ideas, a new approach. So I'm really excited for the audience to see a new layer to Guillermo."
It's possible that season six will also follow Derek as he navigates his new life(?) as a zombie, while Guillermo is sure to harbour some guilt over his role in this.
