Vikings actor Travis Fimmel is the latest star to join the upcoming Dune prequel series, Dune: The Sisterhood.
According to Deadline, Fimmel will play Desmond Hart, "a charismatic soldier with an enigmatic past who seeks to gain the Emperor’s trust at the expense of the Sisterhood".
The actor, who plays Ragnar Lothbrok in Vikings, joins Emily Watson (Kingsman: The Golden Circle) and Shirley Henderson (Harry Potter), who will lead the series as Harkonenn sisters Valya and Tala.

He'll also star alongside other previously announced cast members including Indira Varma, Sarah-Sofie Boussnina, Shalom Brune-Franklin, Faoileann Cunningham, Aoife Hinds and Chloe Lea.
Based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's 2012 sci-fi novel Sisterhood Of Dune, the HBO Max spin-off will be set 10,000 years before the events of Dune and follow the Harkonnen sisters as they work to uncover the fabled Bene Gesserit.

Villeneuve's highly anticipated sequel Dune: Part Two began filming earlier this year, and it's set to hit cinema screens November next year.
The second instalment will see the return of Timotheé Chalamet's Paul Atreides and Zendaya's Chani, as the former seeks revenge against those who destroyed his family.
Rebecca Ferguson, Stellan Skarsgård, Dave Bautista and Javier Bardem will also return, while Christopher Walken, Florence Pugh, Léa Seydoux, Souheila Yacoub and Austin Butler join as new characters.
Dune: The Sisterhood will stream on HBO Max, while Dune: Part Two is scheduled for cinema release on November 3, 2023.
