Andor spoilers follow.

Andor star Adria Arjona has broken down her character's relationship to Cassian in an exclusive chat with Digital Spy.

Arjona, recently seen in Good Omens and Morbius, plays Bix Caleen on Disney+'s latest Star Wars series. A mechanic and a black market dealer, Bix reluctantly helps Cassian get in contact with a black market buyer in episode one.

"Yeah. I think that Bix didn't trust her own judgement. She knew she should have said no. She knew that [Cassian] was up to something. She sensed it," Arjona said.

"She cares for him so deeply, and wishes he would change, and wishes he were more stable. So when she sees him all sort of distraught and harmed, and his face is all bruised up, she's like, 'Man, I want to say no so bad.' She's almost mad at herself that she says, 'Fine, I’ll contact him for you.'"

Her friendship with Cassian makes her boyfriend Timm (James McArdle) suspicious, leading to a potentially fatal betrayal for the protagonist.

"She's incredibly annoyed. She knows, deep down, she shouldn't have done it. And there's this whole betrayal thing that starts. It just comes to show that she should always trust her own intuition," the actress said.

Arjona also touched upon Andor being more grounded than other Star Wars shows, saying: "It really is a story about people like you and me. It's so human."

"These people are on the cusp of a revolution. They have nothing in common, yet they have this one thing that they share, which is oppression," she continued.

"What does that mean? Who's going to be that person that stands up? They need someone to take that stand, and take that move. It's incredibly real and raw and gritty. You really get to know all these characters inside-out. You sort of fall in love with everyone."

Andor premiered with three episodes on September 21, streaming on Disney+. New episodes will then follow weekly.
