Andor will tell the backstory of Diego Luna's Rebel leader in two chapters, but it looks like fans will have to wait quite some time for the second instalment.
Created by Tony Gilroy, the next Star Wars series sees Luna reprise the role of Cassian Andor, a character he first played in 2016 movie Rogue One. His origin story is spread across 24 episodes, with two seasons comprised of 12 chapters each.
While the first season will premiere tomorrow (September 21), season two may not hit our screens before 2024.

"I have two more years to go," Gilroy told The Wrap, confirming that season two will start filming in less than two months.
"We start shooting in November on Part 2. And I don't know if... Our past pattern was two years, but I mean, I'll be on... We'll shoot from November to August. And then our post[-production] last time was about a year."
If we're doing the math right, we'll likely get to see Andor season two in autumn 2024.

Meanwhile, Disney+ is releasing the first three episodes at once, with further chapters following weekly after that – meaning we're covered until November 23, when the season finale will become available to stream.
Speaking on expanding his character's story from Rogue One, Luna told Digital Spy that, despite the show's title perhaps suggesting otherwise, Andor isn't just about him: it's about a community finding strength in each other at a really dark time.
"It's a story about a real hero. And heroes. Even though it's called Andor, you'll get to meet a whole community – people who are crucial in the building of what we know happens."
Andor premieres with three episodes on September 21, streaming on Disney+. New episodes will then follow weekly.
