Grey's Anatomy star Ellen Pompeo will take a limited role in season 19 to make time for a new Hulu series.
According to TVLine, Pompeo will scale back her physical appearances throughout the upcoming season while remaining as a narrator for every episode. She also continues to executive produce the series.

In total, Pompeo's Meredith Grey is expected to appear in eight episodes — less than half of as many as 23 episodes that ABC has ordered for the 2022-2023 TV season.
This news comes on the same day Pompeo signed on to executive produce and star in a currently untitled drama series for streaming service Hulu in the US.
Pompeo will also executive produce the Untitled Orphan Project, which is based on the true story of an American couple who adopted a young girl with a rare form of dwarfism.
Their new family dynamic took a disturbing turn as the parents realised their new 8-year-old daughter might not be telling the truth about her past. Soon, they are pulled into a dangerous web of lies that could threaten their lives and the lives of their other children.
Grey's Anatomy has seemingly been preparing for less Meredith with a slew of casting additions over the summer, including Neighbours' Adelaide Kane, Inventing Anna's Alexis Floyd, Dash & Lily's Midori Francis, Glee star Harry Shum Jr and The Thing About Harry's Niko Terho joining the show.
Pompeo herself hinted in May that it was possible to continue the series without Meredith because of the way Grey's Anatomy inspires young people.
"Shonda [Rhimes] and I, I think – we'll see, we'll see," she told ET Online.
"Trying to reinvent the show and continually trying to reinvent the show is the challenge at this point, and listen, the show speaks to a lot of people, and the young people love the show."
Grey's Anatomy returns for season 19 on October 6, airing on ABC in the US. In the UK, seasons 1-17 are streaming on Disney+, while season 18 is available via Sky Witness and NOW.
