RuPaul's Drag Race star Trixie Mattel has opened up about her decision to not compete on the show again.

The Drag Queen had previously found success on the show when she took part on its seventh season and the third season of its All Stars spin-off.

However, despite her success on the show, speaking to Insider, Mattel said that a return in an All Winners season would not be on the cards for her.

"No," Mattel said. "They did ask me to come back for All Stars. They said: 'Hey, we're doing All Winners. We know you don't want to do it, but we wanted you to know that we always think [of you] if you wanted to do the opportunity' and I said: 'No, thank you'."

In a past interview with Pink News, Mattel had appeared excited by the prospect of appearing on the show again.

"When I left, I said: 'Can you promise me that you'll invite me back for winners' and they [World of Wonder] said: 'Yeah, we'll invite you back'," she had said at the time.

But, since then, the star has graduated from competitor to judge, making the transition last year for the show Queen of the Universe, an international drag singing competition for Paramount+.

"I love judging," she said. "I mean, making fun of Leona Lewis, Vanessa Williams, Michelle [Visage], and Graham [Norton] to their faces all day? They're fun people to mess around with and then the talent is so ridiculous."

However, Mattel is open to a spin-off that would blend the RuPaul world with her show, Trixie Motel.

"I would love to have the 'Drag Race' girls do themed hotel rooms and then I get to help judge, that would be fun," she said. "Or maybe they can do a challenge where they come out and do something at the motel now that I have a place to actually host."

RuPaul's Drag Race All Stars airs on Paramount+ in the US and Netflix in the UK.
