Stranger Things creators Matt and Ross Duffer have teased what fans could expect from their incredibly secret spin-off project of their mega-hit show.
A project so surrounded in mystery that Netflix hasn't been able to formally announce or confirm, possibly waiting until the end of this fourth season to reveal anything.
However, when revealing that the fifth and final series of the hit horror/sci-fi won't be the last, the Duffers teased: "There are still many more exciting stories to tell within the world of Stranger Things, new mysteries, new adventures, new unexpected heroes."

Whilst speaking to Variety, the duo has kept this potential spin-off so firmly under wraps, yet somehow Finn Wolfhard was able to completely guess what this new show will entail.

"Finn Wolfhard, he wasn't spitballing, he just went, 'I think this would be a cool spin-off,'" Ross said. Before adding their surprise: "And we were, 'How in the world… '" but they strongly believe in the future their young star will be a "really talented director".
With all this hush, hush around the project, the US trade asked if it were likely people would have to wait until they completed the final chapter of the Netflix show before beginning work on the untitled project.
"Probably," said the brothers. "There's a version of it developing in parallel [to season 5], but they would never shoot it parallel," stated Ross.

"I think actually we're going to start delving into that soon as we're winding down and finishing these visual effects, Matt and I are going to start getting into it."
Matt continued: "The reason we haven't done anything is just because you don't want to be doing it for the wrong reasons, and it was just like, 'Is this something I would want to make regardless of it being related to Stranger Things or not?' And definitely.
"Even if we took the Stranger Things title off of it, I'm so, so excited about it. But it is not… It's going to be different than what anyone is expecting, including Netflix," added Matt.
Stranger Things season 4 part 2 premieres on July 1, streaming on Netflix.
