Streaming service Paramount+ has confirmed its launch date in the UK as well as pricing details.

The service, which will be home to franchises such as Star Trek and South Park, launched in the US over a year ago.

UK and Ireland users will now be able to use the service from next month, with the platform set to go live on June 22.

Those who want to sign up will be able to access it on a browser, as well as on mobile and TV devices via the Paramount+ app, including Apple, Amazon, Google, Roku and Samsung devices – more platforms will be announced over the next few months.

Paramount+ will also be available on Sky platforms in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Germany and Austria in 2022, with Sky Cinema subscribers able to access the bonus of Paramount+ included at no extra cost.

As for the all-important pricing, the service will cost £6.99 per month (or £69.90 per year), with a free seven-day trial available – though it isn't available yet for purchase.

Content-wise, the service has claimed to boast 8,000 hours of content, with shows and movies from Showtime, Paramount Pictures, Comedy Central, MTV and Nickelodeon, including Scream 5, SpongeBob Squarepants, Halo and The Offer, to name a few.
