Katee Sackhoff has admitted that working on the new series Longmire has been a challenge.
The actress compared crime drama Longmire to the more serialised style of her previous work in Battlestar Galactica and 24 while speaking to The AV Club.
"[The procedural style of Longmire has] been hard. It's been an adjustment for me. I think that I've grown up on TV in serialised television," Sackhoff commented.
She further explained: "I've never done procedural work, so it has been difficult for me. I try to wrap my brain around how we could possibly wrap up a story every episode.
"How is it possible to be so good that we know who the killer is immediately? It's been difficult, but the writers are great with giving us a little bit of the serialised content to keep the actors and the audience interested, and hopefully, it will just continue."
Sackhoff went on to say that she immediately responded to the Craig Johnson crime novels on which Longmire is based.

"I loved the way that he wrote. I don't even know how to explain this, but so many times, you read authors, and they don't really give the audience the credit that they deserve," she noted. "And I think that Craig Johnson writes for an intelligent audience."
She continued: "I think that you have to pay attention, because he doesn't give you those transitions between dialogue for people... I just enjoyed the way that he wrote and the world that he created."
Sackhoff stars in Longmire as Vic Moretti, the favored deputy of grieving husband and Absaroka County, WY sheriff Walt Longmire (Robert Taylor).
Longmire airs Sundays at 10/9c on A&E.
