Vikings: Valhalla's creator has teased a number of seasons to come for the upcoming Vikings spin-off series.
While the Netflix series is yet to premiere, it seems that show bosses are planning for the future – despite the fact that further seasons have yet to be given the green light.
Nevertheless, series creator Jeb Stuart has confirmed earlier reports that the show has been commissioned for 24 episodes.

The first season will consist of eight episodes, with Stuart telling Entertainment Weekly: "We're already in prep on season 3. There's a lot under the dam already that is exciting and big."
Elaborating, he went on to explain of the big scope: "We've got several great characters and we've got stories in different countries and things like that. I think that you almost need to be able look over the horizon.

"When I was out pitching it, I was trying to pitch it as a multi-season thing, because that way I can develop those characters in the storylines over a longer, longer throw. It wasn't like, 'What can we do with the Vikings this year?'

"Because those characters really do have not just emotional arcs, they have literally historical arcs. You can't just get to theme tomorrow or next year," he added.
Valhalla takes place 100 years after the original series, and focuses on Leif Eriksson (Sam Corlett), as well as Emma of Normandy (Laura Berlin), King Canute 'The Great' (Bradley Freegard), Freydis Eriksdotter (Frida Gustavsson) and Harald Sigurdsson (Leo Suter).
Valhalla will air from February 25, 2022 on Netflix. Vikings seasons 1-6 are streaming via Amazon Prime Video.
