Gossip Girl's reboot premiered earlier this year, with the final batch of season 1's episodes dropped very recently, and while the reviews haven't been entirely positive, it's done well enough to get a second season.
Teasing the next season in an interview with TV Line, showrunner Joshua Safran stated that it will take place shortly after the end of season 1, and fans of Obie's new girlfriend Grace can rejoice.
"Oh, you'll definitely get more of Grace," he stated. "Anna (van Patten) is great. It was so much fun to do that. Her karaoke rendition of 'Shallow' is so incredible. And the Chainsmokers bit. I was like, 'what's the cheesiest song that I can put on in this bar?'"

Zoya's new best friend Shan will play an important part of season 2 too, with Safran stating: "She's a rebel and a rabble-rouser; you can't quite get a handle on her, but you know she loves you and has your best interests at heart – even if she goes about it in the wrong way."
But, of course, there's plenty of drama to expect too, especially surrounding the future of the new Gossip Girl account, which Kate hinted at to Julien at the end of season 1.

"The condition is hard to be met," Safran explained. "That's the best way I can put it. Kate believes that condition is going be easier than it is, and Julien thinks it's easier than it is. You really do immediately see how that deal they've made is easier said than done."
