Tiger King is set to get an unexpected spin-off series on Netflix focusing on Doc Antle.
The animal trainer – also known as Mahamayavi Bhagavan Antle – featured prominently in the first season of the Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin saga.
However, the new three-part series will look into the "shocking truth behind Doc Antle's eccentric, animal-loving façade" and his "lifelong abuses of power", according to Netflix's explanation.

Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story, which comes soon after the release of the main show's second season, is set to hit Netflix on December 10, and you can watch a first trailer above.
The full synopsis reads: "A lifelong showman, Doc Antle has built his various careers on theatrics, attracting a slew of admirers along the way.
"But beneath the eccentric, animal-loving facade lies a predator far more dangerous than his beloved big cats and a man shadier than any of his Tiger King counterparts.
"Over three episodes, Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story unpacks the truth about Doc, as witnesses come forward to share their troubling stories of abuse and intimidation that set him at the top of the food chain."

Meanwhile, ahead of the recent second season of Tiger King, Baskin filed a suit against Netflix over her appearance in the episodes, arguing that the streamer and Royal Goode Productions breached their contract by continuing to use footage of her and husband Howard Baskin in season two.
Netflix responded by suggesting that the Baskins signed nine appearance releases and two location release agreements for the original Tiger King, which "explicitly" allow them to use this footage down the line.

"Defendants did not need to obtain a release from Plaintiffs to use the footage in Tiger King 2 or its promotional trailers," court documents read.
"And there is nothing in any of the appearance releases that prohibits any use of the footage. Accordingly, Plaintiffs have no claim at all, much less one that can evade Defendants' First Amendment."
Tiger King: The Doc Antle Story will be released on Netflix on December 10. Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness seasons 1-2 are available to stream now on Netflix.
