Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness was an escape for many of us at the start of the pandemic in 2020, and Netflix has just released the trailer for the follow-up: Tiger King 2.

Since the release of the original series, Joe Exotic has been sent to prison, while Carole Baskin is poised to take ownership of his farm. Many of the other people who featured in the show have found themselves both in the public eye and under the gaze of the authorities, and it's those people this follow-up looks like it is focusing on.

The trailer features people like Jeff Lowe, Tim Stark, Allen Glover, and James Garretson, discussing how life has changed for them since, and shedding further light into the whole infamous Joe vs Carole saga.

The arch enemies do make brief appearances throughout the trailer, but with Joe in prison and Carole publicly refusing to be involved in a second season, how much new footage of them will be included is unknown at this time.

"When [co-director Rebecca Chaiklin] said she wanted to clear the air, I felt like, you know, that's just absolutely ridiculous," Carole previously said while speaking to Radio Times.

"It was so obvious that I had been betrayed by them. Why would she ever think that I would be willing to speak to them again? And so I told her to just lose my number."

Carole's husband Howard also told Louis Theroux earlier this year that Tiger King has everyone thinking that she murdered her first husband, stating that the filmmakers weren't "just unethical — [they were] outright cruel".

Plenty of Tiger King/Joe Exotic projects have been announced in the wake of the Netflix series' success, with one NBC drama set to star Saturday Night Live's Kate McKinnon, Hedwig and the Angry Inch and Shortbus' John Cameron Mitchell, and Twin Peaks' Kyle MacLachlan.

The question hanging above the heads of all these projects is: with Tiger King being so closely linked to the start of the first lockdown, will anyone be as invested the second time around? We're intrigued to see.

Tiger King 2 premieres on November 17 on Netflix.
