Star Trek: Prodigy's first trailer has debuted the return of Captain Kathryn Janeway and revealed its release date.
The animated series will see Orange is the New Black star Kate Mulgrew voice a holographic version of her iconic Star Trek: Voyager and Star Trek: Nemesis character.
On Friday (July 23), the series confirmed it will premiere this autumn on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon in a minute-long teaser trailer.

The trailer also featured the voiceover return of Mulgrew as Captain Janeway.
"We've only just begun," she can be heard saying as the trailer ends.

Star Trek: Prodigy follows a group of teenage rebels who, upon discovering a broken down Federation ship, commandeer it for their own adventures.
Alongside Mulgrew, the series stars Army of the Dead actress Ella Purnell and Brooklyn Nine-Nine's Jason Mantzoukas (Pimento). The Crown actor Angus Imrie (Prince Edward), On My Block's Brett Gray, Star Wars: The Bad Batch's Dee Bradley Baker and Rylee Alazraqui round out the cast.

Previously, Star Trek: Prodigy debuted a first look at its new characters. Of her return, Mulgrew said: "I have invested every scintilla of my being in Captain Janeway, and I can't wait to endow her with nuance that I never did before in Star Trek: Prodigy.
"How thrilling to be able to introduce to these young minds an idea that has elevated the world for decades. To be at the helm again is going to be deeply gratifying in a new way for me."
Star Trek: Prodigy is due to premiere later this year on Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.
