The OC actress Rachel Bilson has spoken out about the idea of a reboot for the teen drama, revealing that she would "be more than willing" to revisit the show.

Speaking on IMDb's Movies That Changed My Life podcast, Bilson, who played socialite Summer Roberts, and her former The OC co-star Melinda Clarke, who played Julie Cooper, chatted to host Ian de Borja about their own brand new podcast, Welcome to The OC, Bitches.

When asked about their thoughts on a potential reboot, Bilson revealed that she thinks there is plenty of material that a new version of the Orange County-based show could cover.

"You know, I think there's always those discussions and people saying if they want it and what not. I don't know," she said. "It's kind of hard to figure out where everyone would go. I'm sure there's places to go. There's like a whole new class I'm sure they could come up with.

"I don't know, you know? It's one of those things where it's hard to be, like, do you want to touch this, or do you want to leave it as is?"

Although she may not be certain just yet about whether a reboot could happen, or whether she'd want to get involved in it, the Hart of Dixie actress said that she would love to reunite with the show's cast and crew.

"I know that Melinda and I have both said we would, of course, be more than willing to revisit such a fond memory," she said. "And (executive producers) Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage can do no wrong, in my opinion."

Bilson also delivered news that will shock long-time fans of The OC during her interview, as she admitted that she'd had no idea that property tycoon character Caleb Nicholl, played by Alan Dale, died from a heart attack during the show's season two finale.

"There's a lot of spoilers coming my way," she said. "Like, Melinda, the other day, mentioned that Caleb dies and I was shocked. I was, like, 'What? He dies? No!' So it's going to be really fun to discover all of these plotlines that I haven't seen."

It definitely sounds like a re-watch is in order for the actress – and we're not averse to doing one ourselves, just to keep her company, of course.

The OC is available to watch on Amazon Prime Video and All 4.
