The Walking Dead: World Beyond boss has broken down what the show's latest post-credits scene might mean going forward.
In the most recent instalment of the horror-drama spin-off, Felix (Nico Tortorella), Hope (Alexa Mansour), Iris (Aliyah Royale) and the rest of the group were targeted by a bunch of tricksters who tried to con them out of their possessions.
Later though, the grifters, named Percy and Tony, agreed to drive the Campus Colony crew to New York – but they had to dispatch of some 'empties' (aka zombies) and break into a Civic Republic Military camp to steal some fuel first.

After the episode finished, a short post-credits sequence sees CRM scientist Dr. Lyla Belshaw (Natalie Gold) receive a phone call from the community's mysterious lieutenant colonel Elizabeth Kublek (Julia Ormond).
"It's a little vague, but it definitely seems like there is something in the works," showrunner Matt Negrete explained to Entertainment Weekly. "We know that Dr Bellshaw has this photo of herself and [Iris and Hope's father] Leo and a few other scientists on her desk.

"We know that one of the scientists we saw in the last episode is now an empty that she seems to be running tests on. Here she pulls out this manuscript that's written by [Leo] that includes a note from Iris that says, 'Hurry up and save the world because we basically want you back at home.'

"Then she gets this call from Elizabeth. We're basically tying some things together. All these elements and bits of this greater world are going to start coming together," he continued.
"What I can say now is that something is afoot, and it seems like there's a plan in place that seems to have potentially something to do with the girl's father. So, there will be more to come for sure."
Elsewhere in the interview, Negrete suggested that Leo might be in New York and that Kublek is intending to "take care" of something before someone – most likely Hope and Iris – arrive there.
