The Walking Dead spin-off centred on biker boy Daryl Dixon will bring back those pesky, smart zombies from World Beyond.
Speaking to Talking Dead: The Walking Dead Universe Preview 2022 (via ComicBook), the franchise's chief content officer Scott M Gimple teased how the 'variant' flesh munchers – capable of climbing walls and opening doors – will give our favourite rogue absolute hell.
"The Daryl spin-off takes place in France," he revealed. "[The World Beyond coda] is a bit of a tease of some of the things Daryl is going to face."

Gimple went on to elaborate: "Daryl is a fish out of water to start with. If Daryl finds himself with new people, he's a fish out of water.
"In France, in a country that's going through the apocalypse, [it's] an entirely different thing. He finds himself having to reinvent himself again, having to find himself again, and also, not being with – probably – the only people in the world he's comfortable with."

Earlier this summer, Daryl actor Norman Reedus delivered an insight into his character's solo adventure.
"It'll be me alone, and I'll be on this mission, and those [Walking Dead] characters will come back together later on down the road, of course; and other characters that have gone missing, I'll probably run into.
"Automatically, the geography will be different. The people will be different, and I imagine I won't understand what the hell people are talking about for the most part because I don't think my character speaks any other languages. I just wanna see something different. I want the tone to be different. I want the look to be different," he added.
The Walking Dead season 11 airs on AMC in the US and STAR on Disney+ in the UK.
