Note: This article contains spoilers for episode 4 of Mindhunter's second season.

Netflix true crime series Mindhunter featured a very familiar face in its recently-released second season when actor Robert Aramayo appeared as serial Elmer Wayne Henley Jr.

And if you've already binged the season and were wondering just why exactly this guy looked so familiar, then you'll be pleased to hear that, thanks to the wonders of the Internet, the connection has now been made (H/T Reddit).

Yep, before Aramayo was delivering menacing looks across an interview table as Elmer Wayne Henley Jr, he was featured in another TV series smash – and in Game of Thrones, no less, as he played a younger Ned Stark in the show's sixth and seventh seasons.

Of course, the older Ned Stark was played by Sean Bean in the show's first season, but Aramayo had a huge moment in the show's season six finale when Bran Stark experienced a vision of Ned's dying sister Lyanna giving Ned her newborn son as his bastard, all but confirming Jon Snow's real parentage.

In Mindhunter, he stars as Henley Jr in season 2 episode 4, which sees Wendy Carr (Anna Torv) and Gregg Smith (Joe Tuttle) go to interview him in prison in the hopes that information from Elmer will help them with a case.

Aramayo also played kidnapper Turk in Jake Gyllenhaal movie Nocturnal Animals back in 2016, so regardless of his time as a Stark the man clearly has a talent for playing the villain.

Speaking of Game of Thrones stars moving on from their time on the fantasy show, Jon Snow actor Kit Harington has discussed why he "hated" filming the series' dragon scenes.

He explained how the challenge of riding the mechanical buck was an even worse experience than filming the claustrophobic and extremely muddy 'Battle of the Bastards' episode.

Kit told The Hollywood Reporter: "Emilia had been moaning about it for seasons, and I was like, 'Yeah, yeah, yeah. Whatever. You have not been through the mud in Northern Ireland. A buck in a nice warm room? Boo hoo'.

"But she was absolutely right. It was horrific. It's not acting at all. It is not acting, it never will be acting, and it is not what I'd signed up for," he added.

"But it looked great, right? It just felt horrible! It is very uncomfortable as a man. Not recommended, no. I don't think I can have children now."
