The Punisher star Ebon Moss-Bachrach has landed a brand-new TV role following the cancellation of the Netflix series.

The actor famously played the role of David Lieberman/Micro in the Marvel show, though has now signed up for CBS All Access drama Interrogation, Deadline reports.

The series is based on a true story set over 30 years and follows a young man (Kyle Gallner) who is charged and convicted of brutally murdering his mother.

Moss-Bachrach will play a close friend of Gallner's character, who happens to be a heavy drug user with a violent streak. He also gets entangled in the murder investigation with secrets of his own.

Interrogation is co-created by Anders Weidemann and John Mankiewicz, with Peter Sarsgaard, Kodi Smit-McPhee and David Strathairn also starring.

Alongside the new CBS All Access show – which will have its first nine episodes ready to stream straight away – Moss-Bachrach is also keeping himself busy in AMC's new series NOS4A2.

The Punisher was cancelled by Netflix earlier this year, which led to a ton of outrage from fans of the show.

One of the most vocal ones was Eminem, who suggested that Netflix was "BLOWING IT" over the decision.

Star Jon Bernthal later responded to Slim Shady's shade, admitting he was "honoured" to have the rapper as a fan of the show.

The Punisher streams on Netflix.
