Jennifer Morrison is returning to TV for the first time since Once Upon a Time came to an end.
The actress, who played Emma Swan between 2011 and 2018, will be swapping fairy tales for the medical profession when she takes on the lead role in CBS drama pilot Under the Bridge.
Coming from Mistresses exec Rina Mimoun, Under the Bridge will see Morrison play cardiothoracic surgeon Caitlin Lancaster, who is "forced to return to work after a self-imposed sabbatical when her husband is voted out of the medical practice they created together with their group of best friends" (via Deadline).

This isn't the first time Morrison will be playing a doctor – she played Dr. Allison Cameron in popular medical drama House between 2004 and 2012.
She has also recurred on How I Met Your Mother.

Morrison's former Once Upon a Time co-star Karen David, who played Princess Jasmine during the sixth season, was recently announced to be joining Fear the Walking Dead's new season.
Although Once Upon a Time has now concluded, creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz suggested that the show could be revived at some point in the future.
Elsewhere in TV pilot news, ex-NCIS star Pauley Perrette is moving into comedy for her first role since her departure.
Perrette has signed up for Broke, a CBS multi-camera pilot from Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder.
