Production on season six of Power has come to a halt after an accident on set led to the tragic death of a crew member.
As reported by Deadline, a 63-year old man named Pedro Jimenez was struck by an SUV in the early hours of Monday morning (December 10) in Brooklyn, while he was setting up cones for filming.
A statement from network Starz reads: “We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of the members of our Power family.
“Our thoughts are with Mr. Jimenez’ family as we work to fully understand what has happened.”
Production was stopped and Jimenez's family were informed immediately after he was pronounced dead by medical authorities. The police have spoken to the driver, who is believed to have also been a member of the crew.
Executive producer Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson said: "My prayers and condolences are with the entire Jimenez family."

Ghost actor Omari Hardwick added: "God, we ask that you warmly receive our good ole Pedro. Please send up prayer for the Jimenez family."
It is unknown how long the production will be paused for, but Deadline notes that the show already planned to go on break over the holidays, so filming may not resume until next year.
Power airs on Netflix in the UK and Starz in the US. Season six is expected to begin airing in June or July 2019.
