The list of Game of Thrones characters who have been killed off is almost endless, and we like to think that they're all together in some kind of afterlife – preferably not murdering each other all over again.

Thankfully, Saturday Night Live has now shown us what that place could be like, as Aquaman actor Jason Momoa brought his mighty Thrones character Khal Drogo back to (after)life in a sketch on last night's (December 8) show.

In the clip, Khal Drogo is seen co-hosting a special chat show called Khal Drogo's Ghost Dojo along with his bloodrider Zerbo (Kenan Thompson), although an angry Khal did stab Zerbo within a minute of the show starting.

After Zerbo is then revived by a witch, he and Khal Drogo continued with their chat show, talking a range of dead Thrones characters, including Hodor and the High Sparrow.

Even King Joffrey Baratheon was back (played by Kate McKinnon), telling the booing crowd: "You're just mad that you're not me."

It wasn't just the reappearance of dead characters fans got to enjoy either, as the clip also featured spoof adverts for Little Beard Twisties, the new and improved wedding venue which hosted the Red Wedding, as well as an alternative to Elf on the Shelf called Khal on the Wall.

"If you're naughty, he'll kill you," the tagline goes.

Unfortunately, while Momoa seems happy to don the eyeliner and play Khal again on the sketch show, we're very unlikely to see him return to the actual HBO show, as the actor recently told Digital Spy that he hasn't filmed any scenes for the final season.

"Yeah... he's not coming back," Momoa said. "Nine years now, let him go."

Game of Thrones' eighth and final season is set to return to our screens in April 2019. The show airs on HBO in the US and Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK. Season 7 is now available to buy on DVD, Blu-ray or digital download.

Saturday Night Live airs on NBC.
