'Battlestar' actress returning to 'Closer'

Battlestar Galactica actress Mary McDonnell is returning to The Closer.

The Emmy nominee will reprise her role as Captain Sharon Raydor in the TNT drama, reports Entertainment Weekly.

The 57-year-old is scheduled to appear on a minimum of five episodes for the show's upcoming sixth season.

According to an insider, McDonnell's character will "create situations that come between Brenda (Kyra Sedgwick) and Pope (J.K. Simmons)".

The next season of The Closer premieres in July.
