We're not saying the winners didn't deserve it – just that this lot were unfairly overlooked.

Series 15

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Joe McFadden and Katya Jones</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez</p><p>Why? Tough one
BBC

Who won? Joe McFadden and Katya Jones

Who should have won? Alexandra Burke and Gorka Marquez

Why? Tough one, this. Much ink was spilled over the question of whether West End star and pop performer Alexandra had an unfair advantage (ditto trained ballerina Debbie McGee), but as it turned out, the public couldn't resist twinkly-eyed Joe in the final reckoning. And he certainly deserved to win.

But, well, so did Alexandra. She was amazing, but for whatever reason, the public didn't warm to her as much as they did Joe.

Series 14

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?</strong><span>&nbsp;Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse</p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Why?&nbsp;</strong>Erm... Do we really need to explain this one? Danny&nbsp;<a href=\"http://www.digitalspy.com/tv/strictly-come-dancing/news/a840087/strictly-come-dancing-scd-2017-danny-mac-good-thing-didnt-win/\" target=\"_blank\" data-tracking-id=\"recirc-text-link\">had been the favourite to win all series</a>&nbsp;but was pipped to the post at the last minute. Sure
BBC

Who won? Ore Oduba and Joanne Clifton

Who should have won? Danny Mac and Oti Mabuse

Why? Erm... Do we really need to explain this one? Danny had been the favourite to win all series but was pipped to the post at the last minute. Sure, Ore may have delivered the strongest performance in the final, but Danny was a flawless dancer throughout the competition and so surely that made him the more deserving winner.

Series 13

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?</strong>&nbsp;Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice</p><p>Jay is one talented dancer
BBC

Who won? Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani

Who should have won? Georgia May Foote and Giovanni Pernice

Why? Jay is one talented dancer, but ballroom isn't just about the moves, it's about chemistry! And while we loved watching him dance with Aliona, Georgia had actual chemistry with Giovanni. In fact, the couple started dating after the series finished and he even put a ring on it. Well, a "commitment" ring, not an engagement ring, but you get our point.

Series 12

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?</strong>&nbsp;Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton</p><p>Frankie was a strong contender throughout series 12
BBC

Who won? Caroline Flack and Pasha Kovalev

Who should have won? Frankie Bridge and Kevin Clifton

Why? Frankie was a strong contender throughout series 12, but she didn't quite deliver during the live final. When the Saturdays singer announced she was pregnant shortly afterwards, some fans couldn't help but wonder if that may have had something to do with her decision to not experiment with more daring moves – there's something to think about...

Series 11

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Škorjanec</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton</p><p>Okay
BBC

Who won? Abbey Clancy and Aljaž Škorjanec

Who should have won? Susanna Reid and Kevin Clifton

Why? Okay, Abbey was the better dancer, but Susanna just seemed like she worked so much harder and wanted to win that much more. And can you imagine how jealous her Good Morning Britain co-host Piers Morgan would have been if she'd won? That alone makes Susanna the more deserving winner, surely?

Series 10

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev</p><p>Not only do we think Kimberley should have won
BBC

Who won? Louis Smith and Flavia Cacace

Who should have won? Kimberley Walsh and Pasha Kovalev

Why? Not only do we think Kimberley should have won, but so does former winner Harry Judd. During an interview with Express Online, he explained: "I thought Louis Smith was really good, but it was time for a woman to win." We couldn't agree more.

Series 9

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Harry Judd and Aliona Vilani</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Chelsee Healey and Pasha Kovalev</p><p>We're going to be honest here. Harry did deserve to win
BBC

Who won? Harry Judd and Aliona Vilani

Who should have won? Chelsee Healey and Pasha Kovalev

Why? We're going to be honest here. Harry did deserve to win, but it was such a close race. His average score for the series was 35.6, while Chelsee's was 35.3. Talk about splitting hairs.

Series 8

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?</strong><span>&nbsp;Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Ann Widdecombe and Anton du Beke</p><p>Kara was a great winner
BBC

Who won? Kara Tointon and Artem Chigvintsev

Who should have won? Ann Widdecombe and Anton du Beke

Why? Kara was a great winner, but Ann is legendary! She wasn't just talented entertaining on the dance floor, but her comebacks to the judges were brilliant. Ann, you were definitely robbed that year.

Series 7

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?</strong><span>&nbsp;Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?</strong>&nbsp;Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe</p><p>Now this really was a<em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">&nbsp;Strictly</em>&nbsp;injustice. Unlike Ann
BBC

Who won? Chris Hollins and Ola Jordan

Who should have won? Ricky Whittle and Natalie Lowe

Why? Now this really was a Strictly injustice. Unlike Ann, Ricky genuinely was talented, to the point where we weren't sure whether he or Natalie was supposed to be the professional dancer. He was favourite to be champion all season until Chris won over the public with an energetic Charleston at the last hurdle. Gutted.

Series 6

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>John Sergeant and Kristina Rihanoff</p><p>Yes
BBC

Who won? Tom Chambers and Camilla Dallerup

Who should have won? John Sergeant and Kristina Rihanoff

Why? Yes, we know Tom was amazing. But come on. How epic would it have been if John had won Strictly that year instead? While he wasn't everyone's cup of tea, we can still remember his Paso Doble like it was yesterday. We can't say the same for Tom's routines (sorry Tom!).

Series 5

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?</strong><span>&nbsp;Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?</strong>&nbsp;Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole</p><p>Alesha
BBC

Who won? Alesha Dixon and Matthew Cutler

Who should have won? Kelly Brook and Brendan Cole

Why? Alesha, we love you, but firstly, you did ditch Strictly for Britain's Got Talent, which was pretty harsh. Secondly, if Kelly hadn't dropped out of the competition, we have a suspicion that you might not have won the show that year. Just saying...

Series 4

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?&nbsp;</strong><span>Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Louisa Lytton and Vincent Simone</p><p>Mark definitely deserved the Glitterball Trophy
BBC

Who won? Mark Ramprakash and Karen Hardy

Who should have won? Louisa Lytton and Vincent Simone

Why? Mark definitely deserved the Glitterball Trophy, but we can't help feeling that Louisa was overlooked that year. She was a great dancer and even went on to represent the nation in the Eurovision Dance Contest 2008, finishing in ninth place. What do you say to that, Mark?

Series 3

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?</strong><span>&nbsp;Darren Gough and Lilia Kopylova</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?</strong>&nbsp;Zoe Ball and Ian Waite</p><p>Zoe was awesome and the Beeb knew it too – hence why they asked her
BBC

Who won? Darren Gough and Lilia Kopylova

Who should have won? Zoe Ball and Ian Waite

Why? Zoe was awesome and the Beeb knew it too – hence why they asked her, not Darren, to front Strictly: It Takes Two. We can just about remember Darren on the show if we're being honest. Seriously, how did Zoe not win?

Series 2

<p><strong data-redactor-tag=\strong\">Who won?</strong><span>&nbsp;Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett</span></p><p><strong data-redactor-tag=\"strong\">Who should have won?&nbsp;</strong>Julian Clary and Erin Boag</p><p>Julian wasn't the most talented dancer we've ever seen on&nbsp;<em data-redactor-tag=\"em\">Strictly</em>
BBC

Who won? Jill Halfpenny and Darren Bennett

Who should have won? Julian Clary and Erin Boag

Why? Julian wasn't the most talented dancer we've ever seen on Strictly, but his razor sharp tongue certainly got people talking. His comebacks to Craig Revel Horwood were absolutely hilarious. On one occasion, he even referred to Craig as "the particularly ugly one on the end". LOL. We understand why he didn't get the Glitterball Trophy, but the man deserves some kind of award for the comedy he delivered.

Who won? Natasha Kaplinsky and Brendan Cole

Who should have won? Christopher Parker and Hanna Karttunen

Why? EastEnders star Christopher got off to a rocky start when he performed a very questionable Paso Doble in week one. It was so bad that the dance is now one of the most memorable moments from the series to date. But following that hiccup, he went on to get better and better and made it all the way to the final. Yes, he may have been a far cry from the King of Latin, but he tried so hard. Top marks for effort!
