14 reality-TV stars with epically awful tattoos

Appearing on Just Tattoo of Us, Holly unknowingly got a huge design on her neck of her then-boyfriend Kyle Christie's face! It's safe to say she wasn't amused at all when she discovered what her partner had chosen for her. Thankfully, in May last year, she started work to get it removed. Honestly, we don't blame her.

On one hand, we have to applaud Steve-O's courage (yes, that's what we're going with here) and self-confidence to get a permanent tribute to HIMSELF on his own back. It takes some guts and a real sense of humour, so there is that. But on the other hand, this is a man with a tattoo of himself throwing the thumbs up on his own back, with the caption "Yeah dude, I rock!" Should we expect anything less from the Jackass star, really?

Chloe Ferry has kept her designs pretty subtle – but we've still got to give her collection of finger tattoos a mention here for the inkings themselves, and how seemingly random they are. Along her fingers, the star has a heart, a 'shhhh' quote, a moustache and an actual CHICKEN LEG. Everyone's choices are their own, and tattoos are a personal thing – but maybe the art was lost a little bit here.

The Pricey got her Pete tattoo for obvious reasons – to show her love for ex-hubby Peter Andre. While it seemed like the sweetest gesture at the time, the inking quickly became a huge regret for Katie after they split. For some reason, she never got the tattoo removed and instead opted to paint a giant cross through his name. We wonder how her current husband feels about that...

Despite being in one of the most unstable relationships reality TV has ever seen, Sam thought it would be a great idea to get girlfriend Tiffany Watson's initials tattooed on his arm. Awkwardly, they then broke up. A few times actually. And after the most recent split, he decided to cover up the initials with a giant feather – which is almost as random as Dan Osbourne's Michael Jackson inking.

It's pretty awks when you get your partner's name tattooed to your body then split up. But Frankie here went out and got several girls' names inked to his bare bottom. Apparently, these are the names of his conquests from the summer of 2011. So many words spring to mind right now but we aren't able to publish them.

Oh, what was Kirk Norcross thinking? We're sure the sentiment comes from a good place, but the huge 'karma' back piece still makes us cringe whenever we see it. In fairness to Kirk, he was happy with the inking when he shared it with the world on social media – even if he admitted it was very painful to get it done – but we just can't get over the almost-illegible writing, coupled with the sheer size of it. And sorry, M8 – but it really looks like "korma".

1. We don't feel too bad including this one in the countdown, because even Nicole herself has admitted it was a bit of a disaster as far as tattoos go. The US reality TV star was just 16 when she decided to "be different" and get the word "virgin" on her wrist, because it's the sign for Virgo.  Years later, she described the design as "embarrassing and desperate". We all live and learn, eh?
   

Getting a tattoo tribute to a partner isn't always a bad thing – and while Marnie claimed she was a "hopeless romantic", it seemed like she definitely regretted her 'R' marking for ex Ricky Rayment once they split up. After chatting to Geordie Shore pal Charlotte Crosby (more on her in a moment), Marnie starting getting it removed last year, along with another design reading: "Never a failure, always a lesson." Not a bad mantra, but maybe it was time for a fresh start.

Back to Charlotte now – the Just Tattoo of Us host isn't one to shy away from poor choices when it comes to her ink. Like Marnie, she went for a romantic twist to the design as she had a design dedicated to her then-boyfriend Mitch Jenkins. But of course, after they broke up, she instantly regretted the permanent reminder of her ex. So, she went through the painful process of getting it removed completely. Ouch.

This is something special. Jemma Lucy once, erm, paid tribute to her idol and former mentor Katie Price with a topless inking depicting the former glamour model. But their friendship came to a sudden end following a row over Stephen Bear – and Jemma didn't hide her feelings when she opened up late last year about getting the tattoo covered up. Getting pretty blunt, she said: "No more Katie Price. I don't know why I haven't got rid of her sooner to be honest. She's a d***!"

When will celebs learn that getting an inking of your partner will always end in tears? Brody was convinced he was proving his undying love for then girlfriend Avril Lavigne when he got her name tattooed on his arm – despite the fact it looked like it had been designed by a 12 year old. We're guessing he clearly has no regrets though as these two have been split up for years and Brody still hasn't got it removed (yet).
