Married At First Sight star Ben Jardine is to join Celebrity Big Brother, just days after the announcement of his divorce.

Jardine, the millionaire property tycoon, began divorce proceedings with his wife Stephanie earlier this week, so a relaxing break in the Celebrity Big Brother house is probably exactly what he needs.

The couple were the only ones to stick together on Married At First Sight, but not long after the end of the show Jardine decided he wanted to separate.

Despite barely knowing each other, they got married live on Channel 4. Just 3 months later, Jardine decided he wanted a divorce, admitting that he didn't love his new wife and that he'd kissed other women. He later discovered that, by law, they'd have to remain married for a year.

Earlier in the year, he told The Sun: "Steph's a wonderful woman with a heart of gold and we were both 110 per cent in it to make it work.

"I never got into this to get divorced, so didn't ever consider that we'd have to stay together for a year if it didn't work.

But with all that now behind him, Jardine will now be entering the Celebrity Big Brother house, where it's rumoured he'll be joined by a scintillating line-up of stars, including Sinitta, Rodrigo Alves, Jermaine Pennant, Paris Lees, Sally Morgan, Kirstie Alley, Ryan Thomas, Jonathan Van Ness, Kieran Hayler and Stormy Daniels.

Celebrity Big Brother 2018 will return to our screens on Thursday, August 16 at 9pm on Channel 5.
