Just yesterday (July 17), The X Factor unveiled its new-look judging panel for the 2018 series, which will be made up of former One Direction star Louis Tomlinson, Robbie Williams, Ayda Field and Simon Cowell.

Since then, there's already been quite a lot of grumping coming from Louis' fans – and it turns out most people are unhappy about the whole thing.

We at Digital Spy took it upon ourselves to ask the public what they thought:

OK, most people are miffed about Louis potentially abandoning his music:

"It's a NO from me because Louis deserves better things. I'm gonna support him always no matter what. I need a happy Louis," wrote one Twitter user.

And others aren't convinced Ayda is going to make a great judge:

"Ayda, really? I guess if they can have Amanda Holden judging people, then they can have anyone, though," one joked.

A Facebook user wrote: "Ugh Robbie 'ego' Williams and Mrs Williams too - really? Is this the best they can do?"

Another demanded: "CANCEL THE SHOW!!!!"

But it's not all bad news, since there were some people predicting good things...

Earlier today (July 18), Louis responded to fans worrying that he's neglecting work on his new album.

"I just wanted to check in with everyone," Louis explained in a Twitter video, before thanking fans for their support.

"As I said in the press conference, the album is still definitely my priority. It doesn't change any release time or anything like that, me doing the show."

The X Factor returns later this year on ITV.
