Celebrity chef Gino D'Acampo is a regular on ITV's This Morning, but today instead of hosting the show's cooking segment, he was invited to the sofa for a chat about his new series of Gino's Italian Escape.

However, things turned surprisingly rude after Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield pointed out a hilarious observation about Gino's voiceovers.

Gino hails from Naples in Italy and if you've ever heard him speaking, you'll know he's got a very thick accent when he speaks English. It turns out that very accent can accidentally give some words an unintentionally X-rated twist without him realising.

This fact didn't slip by presenters Holly and Phil, as they were quick to show a clip where Gino mispronounces "beaches" as "b*tches", "chiquest" as "s**test" and even said locals have "sex changes", rather than "exchanges".

The unintentional hilarity was highlighted when the cheeky presenters got Gino to read out a bunch of tricky words that would challenge him, thanks – or no thanks – to his accent.

Defending himself Gino explained: "I can't believe I said that.

What to Read Next

"I'm going to be honest with you, I am Italian, but most of the time when I do those things, the voice on the show, I have no idea what I'm talking about.

"I'm just reading and I'm constantly going, 'What does that mean?'."

This isn't the first time that some unintentional swears have been dropped on This Morning, as former Love Island stars were caught swearing in the background of one segment, while Loose Women's Katie Price was scolded by Phillip Schofield for using the N-word twice in one interview.

Yesterday This Morning was struck by a massive technical glitch which caused the show to go off-air for twelve minutes after "an issue at the BT Tower". Despite the fail, Phillip made light of the situation as the show opened today.

He joked: "We're planning to show you the whole show today, there'll be no secret 12 minutes that no one sees."

This Morning airs weekdays at 10.30am.
