Angie Bowie claims she "f***ed up" the whole David Gest misunderstanding which unfolded in the Celebrity Big Brother house last week.
Last week, Angie was informed privately by Channel 5 that her ex-husband, music icon David Bowie, had died. When she told fellow housemate Tiffany Pollard that "David is dead", an inconsolable Tiffany assumed she had meant David Gest, who been unwell for a number of days.
Reflecting on the gut-wrenching moment and Tiffany's hysterical reaction, she told Digital Spy: "I was totally baffled, I thought she'd gone mad.
"I looked at her and thought, 'She's gone crazy'. I shouldn't have said a word, I should have just waited."
The confusion continued as the only two housemates who knew that Bowie had passed away were David Gest - who was in ill in bed, and John Partridge, who was in the shower.
"John was sitting with me and we were huddled on the sofa and he said, 'I'm going to take a shower, wait for me', and David was supposed to stay with me but he looked very unwell and I said, 'Why don't you go and lie down David, I'll be fine'," she continued to recall.

"That great plan did not work. Stupidly I did not say 'David Bowie' when Tiffany asked me. I had a moment of stupidity, and then people started coming into the room..."
The former model and actress took responsibility for the horrendous mix-up, adding: "I f**ked it up. I should not have told Tiffany. I didn't realise that she shouldn't be aware that the David I was talking about was my ex-partner and person I had worked with.
"I was so upset. You don't think about that kind of stuff - I'd lost so many people over the last two years. I had no idea it would hit me like that ."
Angie left the house yesterday due to medical grounds and to grieve for Bowie - with whom she has a son, filmmaker Duncan Jones.
Gest also left the house this week due to illness, while US reality TV star Jonathan Cheban quit last week due to the ongoing conflict in the house.
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at 9pm on Channel 5.
