The course of true love never did run smooth, whether you're an ill-fated couple in a Shakespearean comedy, or a footie-focused content creator called Angryginge. And despite getting some admiring looks from campmate Ruby Wax while in the I'm A Celeb jungle, the influencer – real name Morgan Burtwistle – and his turbulent love life could be the reason behind his furious nickname.
Back in October 2022, while on a Twitch live stream, Ginge appeared to be dumped by his girlfriend at the time, which he then later reposted to his TikTok account, captioning it "Girlfriend breaks up with me on live stream", with two crying emojis, then adding: "So embarrassing."
"Oh sorry, it's just my girlfriend messaging my chat," he told viewers, picking up his phone, "Just let me reply to her really quick."
"Why did you send me that?," he said, reading out her message. "It looks f**king disgusting. We're over..." Ginge's face then promptly crumpled as he dropped his phone.
So what was the offending picture? He's never revealed what exactly might have prompted his girlfriend to break up with him so savagely – and in front of so many people – and who was the woman in question. The video went on to get 42,ooo likes (rude!) as well as some of his 2.1 million fans commenting helpfully commenting things like: "You don't need her, you just need Man United" and "You actually have one?".
Speaking to Ruby Wax in tonight's episode of IAC, Ginge said that this wasn't a fake skit, as some fans may have thought. He revealed that his ex-girlfriend did break up with him via text when he was on a live stream, saying: "I had to carry on [the live stream] for six more hours."

He also showed his romantic side when he explained what he had done to make the woman in question his girlfriend in the first place. Before popping the question, he lay "rose petals, from the front door all the way up the stairs and then it opened to my room, there’s a teddy bear, there’s a rose and then I officially asked her to be my girlfriend". A highly cute move from the usually angry social media dude. Where did it all go wrong?
Is Angryginge single or dating?
For a YouTuber who broadcasts pretty much his every waking thought online, Ginge has actually stayed pretty quiet about who he's been dating.
He's previously been linked to other influencers, like Kaci Jay in 2024, after they filmed some content together going on a 'date', and their fans spotted a bit of real-life chemistry between then. Ginge never confirmed or denied this, but he spoke about a "girlfriend" around this time.
Then, earlier this year, there were suggestions that he could be dating fellow content creator Jolie Sharpe, once again after the pair starred in a number of videos posted to socials. But was it work or play? Again, Ginge is playing his cards close to his chest.
When appearing on a podcast in March 2025, he was asked to described his perfect woman. He said: "Personality wise, this is going to sound so bad, I like a woman like Chloe Burrows. She's nice – she's funny. I wouldn't marry her... she's thick as f**k, but she's got a good personality and she's quite outgoing."
Meanwhile, one of the social media star's mates has also waded in on Ginge's true reasons for going on the ITV show – and he's all about the romance, apparently. In a YouTube video, his friend Tays said: "Ginge told me before he went on there, that he's going on I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here is to find a girlfriend."
Well, with only around 10 days left, he better get making a move.
I'm a Celebrity is on nightly on ITV and ITVX at 9pm.
