Fans of I'm a Celebrity are sure they've spotted secret communication between Alex Scott and the outside world, and her girlfriend (or should that be fiancée?) Jess Glynne appears to have confirmed it.
Alex apparently fiddles habitually with a gold necklace whenever Ant and Dec arrive in camp for the live part of the show. Jess, meanwhile, posted a photo of herself at her latest gig wearing layers of gold chains. "Meanwhile in the UK…" she posted, "I did a show on Friday night and wore a lot of diamonds. Do you think someone’s trying to tell me something?"
Put the gold chains and the diamonds together and you've got code for "We are engaged now, yes." Or so the fans would have us believe.
Alex Scott hasn't historically talked much about her relationship with her girlfriend, popstar Jess Glynne – it doesn't tend to come up in sporting interviews, and she's generally a private person. (Though we do know a few things about her dating history – she is a famous footballer, after all.) That changed on Tuesday's I'm A Celebrity, when she opened up to campmate Ruby Wax about their romance.
"I think before her, I never knew happiness," she told Ruby.
"She came up to me in one of those boujie clubs in London… I was in there with my friends and she just walked up to me… [it was] really ballsy and I was like, 'I like your ballsiness', and then the spark was just instant and then yeah… we fell madly in love."

Early 2023: The pair met at a club, as described by Alex above.
May 2023: They kept their relationship secret for months, despite rumours swirling after they were regularly spotted together at swanky parties. But they were first seen at an event called Advertising Week Europe, where they both spoke about their respective careers on a panel.
Then, in July, they were seen together in the audience on day two at Wimbledon, wearing matching cream outfits – a fashion nightmare had they been close friends, but an inspired choice for a couple on the rise. The following month, they attended the Coco de Mer party together in striking black ensembles but still didn't confirm anything about a romance to the outside world.
They kept all details of their relationship away from the public until a friend confirmed they were dating to The Sun.
"Alex and Jess have been a slow burn and they didn't want to rush things or go public too soon," the source told the publication. "But they're officially an item now and seem really happy. They are both strong, independent women with a shared passion and respect for their respective careers, supporting one another from the sidelines.
"It's still early days for them, but they've met one another's mates and everyone is super-happy for them."
The romance heats up
January 2024: By the new year, it was clear things were getting serious. Alex and Jess burst into 2024 with a romantic trip to Mexico, sharing agonisingly beautiful snaps from their getaway in Tulum, where they went scuba diving, caving, and soaking up every inch of that January sun.
The hard launch
March 2024: After maintaining an impressively low profile, Alex and Jess stole the show at the BRIT Awards after-party, posing together on the red carpet and sharing their first public kiss.
May 2024: Two months after they officially became one of the hottest items in showbiz, Jess told Pink News she felt "real happy in love".
June 2024: After teasing fans with gorgeous snaps and gushy posts, Alex gave a rare insight into their relationship during an interview with The Times, detailing her daily routine. She said: "I wake up next to my partner, Jess, who has become the same person as me over the past year and a half. She can see what going to the gym does for me mentally, so she'll do the same."
Since then, they’ve been inseparable – walking hand in hand at countless events, jetting from beach to beach, sipping cocktails around the world, and consistently being each other's biggest cheerleaders.
Alex enters the jungle
Ahead of I'm A Celebrity, Alex admitted her jungle stint is "going to be a test for the both of us".
She told the Daily Mail what she'll miss most about the singer: "Her cooking pasta for me is absolutely everything. Those quiet moments when your life's a hundred miles per hour – just coming home and she loves to cook and we love to sit and have a glass of wine."
As for Jess, she's been flying the Alex Scott flag from the UK, sharing her support on Instagram – but missing the football hero just as much. On her Instagram Story today, Jess shared a video from a recording studio. "It's flipping cold today. Anyone else frozen to the core? And I've got no one to cuddle," she said, pulling a sad face.
