Married at First Sight Australia fans praised Awhina Rutene and her sister, Cleo, as Family and Friends Week with partner Adrian Araouzou went awry.
Awhina and Adrian have had a rocky relationship thus far, with the latest commitment ceremony seeing the couple remain in the experiment by a thread after Awhina opted to leave, with Adrian’s pledge to stay seeing them work on their bond for another week.
Tuesday’s (April 1) instalment saw the existing couples engage in Family and Friends Week, with each pair being questioned – or in some instances, interrogated – on their time during the experiment thus far.
Awhina, who was accompanied by her twin sister, admitted at the outset of the meeting that she and Adrian “struggled to communicate” during the experiment, with Adrian’s three sisters keenly listening in.
After an icy start, Cleo remarked that her sister looked “drained” whilst sitting at the table, with tensions boiling after she clashed with Adrian’s family and friends. They eventually left the room, with Cleo remarking that Awhina “didn’t need them” in her life.
