Strictly Come Dancing spoilers follow.
Strictly Come Dancing has crowned its champions for the 2024 series, with Chris McCausland and Dianne Buswell lifting the Glitterball Trophy.
Saturday’s (December 14) grand final saw the couple triumph ahead of JB Gill, Tasha Ghouri and Sarah Hadland, who were partnered by Lauren Oakley, Aljaž Škorjanec and Vito Coppola respectively.
Each couple had to perform three routines, with their first dance of the night seeing the Judges – Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke – personally choose a performance from earlier in the series.

This was followed by the Showdance, a special one-off routine which gives each pair complete free rein to incorporate several styles, and the Couples’ own personal pick, all before facing the public vote to decide the victor.

After an anxious wait, host Tess Daly confirmed that Chris and Dianne were the champions, with the comedian, who was brought to tears, being mobbed by his co-stars as he celebrated the win.
“It's astonishing,” said Chris following his triumph. “I don't know what to say. I honestly thought I could go out in the first week or two. I know nobody went out in the first week but I still thought I could go out.”

“She [Dianne] has got so much out of me – she deserves this so much. She’s one of the easiest people to be funny with. This is for her and for everyone who got told they couldn’t do something,” continued Chris, with Dianne adding that the trophy was for “both of [them]”.
The result came after a hotly-contested evening on the dancefloor, with the four couples only being separated by three points as JB and Tasha topped the charts with 119 points from a possible 120. Sarah accrued 118 points from her three routines, whilst Chris scored 116.
Strictly Come Dancing airs on Saturdays on BBC One, while spin-off Strictly: It Takes Two airs on weeknights on BBC Two. Both shows are available to stream on BBC iPlayer.
