Lorraine Kelly has reacted after Celebrity Big Brother star Lauren Simon mistakenly thought Fern Britton was her.

The blunder was shown on last night's (March 5) episode of Late & Live, as The Real Housewives of Cheshire star was seen chatting to the former This Morning presenter.

However, it quickly became clear that Lauren had confused Fern for another big daytime TV star.

Speaking about Lorraine's recent appearance on James Martin's Saturday Morning, Lauren told Fern: "I think I saw you, was it you that's written a book with um, what's the chef called, Martin, I'm sure it was you."

Fern then clarified that she writes novels, as Lauren referred to Lorraine's recent book The Island Swimmer, adding: "I'm sure it was you, something to do with diving and the sea, not you?"

A confused Fern then realised: "Diving and the sea? Oh no, that's Lorraine Kelly!"

Lorraine was shown the clip on her show today (March 6), sharing her confusion over the mix-up before quickly laughing the blunder off.

"She was getting me mixed up with Fern? I don’t know why, it's bizarre! Fern did not look that happy about it to be fair. She's like, 'Hang on a minute, that's not one of mine!'

"Oh, that was so silly," Lorraine added.

Following the original broadcast of the blunder, others seemed just as confused by the mix-up, with Yinka Bokinni saying on Late & Live: "They look nothing alike, they're not even from the same place!"

"I know! It is bonkers, but to be fair there are worse morning TV presenters to be confused with," host AJ Odudu went on to note.

Celebrity Big Brother airs Sundays through Fridays at 9pm on ITV1 and the ITV Hub, followed by Late & Live on ITV2 immediately following each new episode.
