Dancing with the Stars has announced that Tyra Banks will be the new host for its upcoming 29th season.
The US version of Strictly Come Dancing recently confirmed the exit of long-time host Tom Bergeron, who has fronted the show since its premiere in 2005, and co-presenter Erin Andrews, who joined in 2014.
"I've been a fan of DWTS since its beginning," Banks said in a statement. "The fun mixed with raw emotion, seeing celebrities push past their comfort zones, the sizzling dance performances.

"It's always transported me to my days of turning it up 10 notches on the catwalk.
"Tom has set a powerful stage, and I'm excited to continue the legacy and put on my executive producer and hosting hats."
Banks will also serve as executive producer on the series, alongside showrunner Andrew Llinares.
In a statement thanking Bergeron, Karey Burke, president of ABC Entertainment, revealed her excitement about the "fresh take" that the America's Next Top Model host will bring to the dancefloor.

Dancing with the Stars airs on ABC in the US. Strictly Come Dancing is expected to return for an all-new series later this year on BBC One.
