Among them are Chris and Samantha, who will both be playing as themselves. Also playing are Karyn, posing as a made-up character called Mercedeze, and Seaburn, who is pretending to be his girlfriend Rebecca.

The US version, hosted by Michelle Buteau (above) and streaming over three weeks, has already been filmed in the same block of flats in Manchester as the UK version. There are also Brazilian and French versions in the pipeline.

The second series of the UK version finished a few months ago, with Paddy Smyth crowned the players' champion while Tim Wilson was declared the public's winner.

The Circle airs on Netflix in the US. The UK version airs on Channel 4.
