The Circle spoilers follow.

The Circle's Raven has taken to social media to share her sadness at "horrible" messages she has been sent online.

The Circle can be an incredible cutthroat game, with players lying and double-crossing their way to try and earn that prize money.

While it makes for great TV, it also opens up the players involved to a torrent of abuse on social media.

In the latest episodes of The Circle US' fifth season, we saw Sam discover that 'Jennifer' (actually Brett and Xanthi) was secretly the hacker, with the ability to pretend to be other people in private chats. As influencers, she and Raven made the decision to block Marvin from the game, rather than Jennifer.

Raven, the show's first Deaf contestant who is playing alongside her interpreter Paris, took to Twitter to call out the online abuse.

"It’s cool to disagree with my game play, idc. But the amount of black men saying horrible shit to me is just sad honestly," she tweeted.

In response to an uplifting response from a fan, she wrote: "For sure. I am focusing on all of you beautiful people who are sharing your stories with me and being so positive and rooting for me. I really love y’all so much. Wanna meet all of you and give you a huge hug!"

Later, she added: "WAIT WAIT WAIT WAIT! you’re telling me that y’all are dragging my shit and don’t even know how Sam and I actually came to our decision on that blocking?!?

"All I can saw is GOOD TV!! Cause I haven’t seen the people go into an uproar over a show in a minute. I feel like Netflix should pay for a lot of peoples therapy session this week."

She also said: "Marvin. We're good in real life."

Marvin's blocking wasn't the only one that took place in the latest batch of episodes. In episode 8, comedian Tom Houghton made the call to block 'Sasha' (actually returning season 1 favourite Shubnam), only to find himself blocked in episode 12.

The Circle US season 5 finale drops on Netflix on Wednesday, December 18.
