Phillip Schofield has not banned Britain's Got Talent judge Amanda Holden from appearing on This Morning, according to ITV.

The two TV stars are supposedly engaged in a 'feud', which was born when Schofield allegedly stood in the way of Holden getting a co-presenting job on This Morning whilst Holly Willoughby was away.

But now, following whispers that Schofield is still upset with Holden's behaviour, ITV has come forward to straighten out one particular rumour – that the presenter doesn't ever want to see Holden on the morning show.

Via Metro, the broadcaster stated: "These reports are completely untrue. Presenters don't make decisions regarding who appears on the show."

Previously, Holden revealed that she'd offered "to meet him for a coffee months ago", but claimed he didn't reply to her text.

"I've moved on from it," she said.

Elsewhere, This Morning's 'crafts and decorations' contributor Sophie Prescott blasted Holden last month for her actions when the pair worked together on a segment.

She said: "Amanda was all 'me, me, me'. I put on a brave happy face doing the show but Amanda was very off-putting during my live appearance; kept asking questions, kept interfering and I felt she was a very controlling person."

This Morning airs weekdays and Sundays on ITV.
