This year's Great British Bake Off is truly filling our cold souls with love.

After Rahul's admission that he bakes to make friends, Terry divulged in last night's episode (September 25) that the show has given him something to focus on following the death of his wife. This is heartbreaking.

The baker, who was eliminated during Spice Week, credited the Channel 4 show for helping him to come to terms with his grief.

During his exit interview, he said to camera: "I said I wouldn't get upset. It's funny when you're on your own... my wife and I were very happy and that was a massive loss. There wasn't anything to fill the gap for a very long time so it's given me a focus.

"I've met some lovely people I'm sure we'll keep in touch for a very long time. It's been a big help and something I'll remember for a long time. I won't stop baking. I'm very much looking forward to more projects carried out in a bigger time frame."

Unsurprisingly, messages of support very quickly poured in for Terry, with the official Bake Off account leading the way, writing: "We'll always treasure your time on the show, Terry. So many happy memories. We look forward to your future baking adventures."

Viewers also shared their messages of support:

"Genuinely in tears over Terry's little post elimination interview. 'Filled the void' oh Terry, oh my darling, please be okay," one viewer wrote, while another added: "Think I just heard the nation's heart shatter into pieces simultaneously hearing Terry talk about losing his wife on #GBBO."

Group hug, anyone?
