DC's Legends of Tomorrow will apparently be losing a key original cast member this season.
Victor Garber will be departing his role as one-half of the nuclear superhero Firestorm in the DC TV team-up series over the coming months, according to Entertainment Weekly.
The CW has yet to offer official confirmation, but Garber has definitely lined up his next job in the cast of the Broadway revival of Hello, Dolly!. He'll be joining fellow stage great Bernadette Peters in the musical come January.
It remains to be seen what Garber's departure will mean for cast member Franz Drameh, since their characters Martin Stein and Jefferson Jackson must physically combine to become Firestorm.
However, the answer may actually be found in Legends of Tomorrow's past. Garber's Stein originally forged with Ronnie Raymond to forge Firestorm on The Flash, before switching up the twosome when actor Robbie Amell declined to join Legends of Tomorrow.
Maybe Jax will find a new partner in the episodes ahead? Over the summer, Victor Garber spoke with Digital Spy about the uncertainty of joining Legends of Tomorrow without Robbie Amell.
What to Read Next
"Robbie and I are friends and we had such a great time together, so when it was not an option for him to do [Legends], I was very nervous," he admitted.
"But I went in and did a chemistry read with Franz and the minute I met him, I just had this sense that this casting was a really good idea. He's one of the most inventive and interesting people I've ever worked with.
"I love him, and I really find him challenging – he raises my game, because he's so inventive. I think he's a great addition and I think that he provides a dynamic that the show can really use, so it's been great."
While Legends of Tomorrow might be losing one-half of Firestorm, it will be gaining a Hellblazer. It was announced this week that Matt Ryan will reprise his title role from Constantine for a two-parter.
Legends of Tomorrow continues next Tuesday (October 17) at 8pm on The CW in the US. Sky One airs the show in the UK.
