Survivors star Phillip Rhys has said that he understands the producer's decision to write one of the cast out of the show.
Late last year, Adrian Hodges teased that a main character would be killed off before the end of series two.
Speaking exclusively to Digital Spy, Rhys - Al Sadiq on the apocalyptic drama - said that the story was necessary "for the sake of the show".
"I understood it," he said. "For the sake of the show, it worked. Any of us can be sacrificed and we get that.
"We didn't know when we got recommissioned that one of us would be going, and I don't think they'd decided who yet. But it's good - it's the right decision. I'm sure the person who got sacrificed is a little bummed... but who's to say it's not me?!"
Rhys refused to reveal the nature of the death, but teased that Al would be "very, very traumatised" by it.
