As well as the bottles, the parcel came with a note reading: "Dear Mr Madden – Our deepest apologies for the water bottle situation. Normally, we give them out gladly but your fans are always so thirsty... Love, Netflix."

Original story: Bodyguard's leading man, Richard Madden, found himself in some real-life trouble at Netflix's headquarters.

On American talk show KTLA Morning News, the actor revealed that things got heated when he… asked for a bottle of water.

"I walked in and was told I was in the wrong building," said Richard. "But there was a fridge of Netflix-branded water, which I went to grab a bottle of and he said you have to go around the corner for your guys' show.

"I said, 'Cool, I'll just grab a bottle of water,' which I was told 'No, you're not allowed to, it's for Netflix employees only'."

Bodyguard might be the UK's most watched drama series since records began, but unfortunately, that doesn't seem to be enough to earn its star some perks!

After the blunt response, Richard attempted to resolve the situation in a calm, David Budd-like fashion, saying, "I am a Netflix employee, I'm on a show!" Instead of clearing things up, the situation took something of a serious turn.

He says he was told by Netflix officials, "Sir, you have to put that water back now," quickly followed by a curt: "You have to leave now, sir."

"He held the door for me and I left the building," Richard joked.

Despite Richard's struggles, it looks like Bodyguard will only continue with its success as it has just appeared on Netflix for American audiences to binge.

The actor is currently in talks about a potential second season of the show after the phenomenal success of its debut series, with 17.1 million people tuning into the finale.
