Game of Thrones and Bodyguard star Richard Madden's new film has debuted with 0% on Rotten Tomatoes.
The actor stars alongside Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Shailene Woodley in Killer Heat, a film about an American private eye living in Greece, who investigates a mysterious death and finds twists and turns around every corner.
Added to Prime Video this week, the film received some brutal reviews from critics.
Here's what some of the reviews have said:
The Guardian
"It’s all so boringly pedestrian from start to finish. The private dick, the femme fatale, the smoldering husband, the mob matriarch, all speaking in cliches in rushed scenes that never allow any of them to transcend stereotype. Woodley fares the best, adding some emotional weight to her dialogue, treating the material with a humanity that’s otherwise absent.
"Gordon-Levitt is closer to a Leslie Nielsen parody but without any jokes, also devoid of smart tricks and charm, while Madden is left to a repetitive cycle of clenching his jaw and squeezing his biceps."
What to Read Next
New York Times
"The twists and pedestrian dramatics are a stiff slog to get to, and Gordon-Levitt’s once innate charisma has vanished altogether here; his cheap P.I. outfit itself seems to be wearing him more than the other way around."
Blu-ray.com
"Thrills and chills are limited in a tale that’s mostly interested in limp confrontations and uneventful dialogue. Killer Heat strives to summon a noir mood with its study of potential murder and simmering jealousy, but there’s not much to dig into with this flat endeavor."
Decider
"Nice photography and costumes and an attractive cast can’t compensate for a flimsy screenplay that’s about to blow away in a warmish breeze."
Killer Heat is available to stream now on Prime Video.
