Julia Montague and David Budd have been spotted for the first time together since that fateful Bodyguard bomb scene.

Well, their real-life actors have anyway.

On Saturday evening, Keeley Hawes and Richard Madden joined the show's creator Jed Mercurio, producers and the casting director for a celebratory reunion dinner at Mayfair seafood restaurant Scott's.

The castmates were pictured leaving the restaurant while Mercurio also shared pictures from the "big night out" and "great evening".

Just 24 hours later, viewers were yet again glued to their screens as episode five of the hit political thriller aired on BBC One. Episode four saw main character, the Home Secretary Montague, killed off after a bomb exploded during her speech (something Mercurio recently confirmed definitely happened, despite speculation the character might not really be dead).

The most recent episode showed an increasingly anxious and frustrated Budd vow to get to the bottom of who is responsible for her death – something much of the audience are no clearer on after watching the episode.

Bodyguard has been the Beeb's most successful new drama in over a decade. The broadcaster revealed episode one attracted 10.4 million viewers, with a 40.9% audience share.

The final episode of the six-part series will be shown in a 75-minute screening on Sunday, September 23.
