BBC's divisive drama McMafia aired its penultimate episode last night (February 4), and it looks like not even the charismatic James Norton is enough to win over viewers to Alex's revenge.

With his girlfriend recovering in hospital after being shot in last week's episode, Alex (Norton) finally came clean to his family, admitting that he'd been waging war on Russian mobster Vadim Kalyagin (Merab Ninidze) as part of his plot to get revenge for the murder of his uncle.

But in an episode that saw more betrayals, more revenge and more murder attempts, the show took a darker turn when Vadim's daughter Natasha was shot dead by a hitman at her own farewell party, leaving Vadim furious.

And it looks like that was the moment that the viewers became purely Team Vadim too:

Alex also received his own devastating news last night, though, as he learned that girlfriend Rebecca had miscarried their baby after she was shot, sparking his own need for revenge:

But he ended the episode on a plane to Moscow, with viewers convinced he was about to walk into a trap:

And all in all, this is one drama that continues to divide, with some viewers praising the show for all of its twists and turns and looking forward to next week with a passion:
