Phillip Schofield caused havoc on the This Morning set today (October 9), after he was let loose on a hoverboard.

He raced around the studio after jumping onto the board, before promptly destroying one of the set's cabinets.

Phillip had said he "couldn't resist" giving the Neon HoverKart a go, which attaches to a regular hoverboard to turn it into a kind of three-wheeled trike.

The gadget was part of a segment on the show about this year's must-have Christmas presents, so Phillip naturally introduced the device by saying: "You can imagine when [they] brought this in first thing this morning I just couldn't resist."

Cue a HILARIOUS video of Phillip giving the gadget a go earlier that morning.

Holly Willoughby sensibly decided to stay put on the This Morning sofa and have a laugh watching her co-host.

Watching back the video, Phillip said as he bashed into the set: "Woah, oh my God. This is the best. I took a bit of the veneer off here."

Holly said: "Breaking the set – you loved it though."

The co-hosts revealed Rylan Clark-Neal was "really good at it" – sadly no photographic evidence exists of that moment yet.

This Morning airs weekdays on ITV.
