Well, that was tough to watch. ITV debuted a documentary tonight (July 24) all about the forever-cherished Princess Diana, and it had swathes of the nation reaching for the tear-mopping tissues.
It was called Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacy, and over 90 minutes it charted the most important moments in her life, her devastating passing, and the impact she still has on the world.
Here is what people were saying at home as Diana's story was told...
Barely had the programme kicked off that people were declaring their fragile emotional states en masse:
The section that depicted the terrible hounding that Diana and family would routinely receive from paparazzi invading their space was not easy to see:
William and Harry recounting the last phone call they ever had with their mum tugged on everyone's heartstrings, as the boys described the regret they had over how short the call was โ given they could never have known it was the final chat they would have with her:
And the documentary overall seemed to be a hit with viewers chatting online:
Diana, Our Mother: Her Life and Legacyaired on ITV.
