Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton will bring along an all-star cast as they once again go Inside No. 9 for BBC Two.

Fresh off the most recent run wrapping up late last month, the Beeb has ordered six more episodes of the anthology drama where strange and alluring events occur in mansions, office complexes and even farmhouses tagged with the number nine.

Joining the League of Gentlemen visionaries in the next series of Inside No. 9 will be Silent Witness star Emilia Fox, Doctor Who favourite Noel Clarke, Rory Kinnear (James Bond), Bill Paterson (Fleabag), Monica Dolan (W1A) and Kenneth Cranham (In the Flesh).

EastEnders' Tanya Franks, Zoë Wanamaker (Agatha Christie's Poirot), Sian Gibson (Peter Kay's Car Share) and Nigel Planer (The Young Ones) have supporting roles in the new series as well.

Announcing the new episodes, Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton said: "We feel ridiculously privileged to find ourselves at Pinewood Studios filming a new set of episodes (though sadly not in Studio 9).

"We are getting through more actors than Midsomer Murders and it's a dream to work with the country's finest once again. As ever we've attempted a real mix of styles and genres, including one really brilliant episode and one really disappointing one; we look forward to viewers debating which is which."

BBC Two's comedy controller Shane Allen also promised that the upcoming series is sure to "razzle and dazzle" Inside No. 9's passionate fans.

"[Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton's] terrific writing has lured the cream of British acting talent to serve up six completely new and sublimely conceived treats," Allen added. "They transcend the parameters of genre limitations with this widely admired series."

Each of the six upcoming episodes will introduce brand new characters in self-contained stories based around that dreaded number nine, as usual. Production on the series is underway now.
