People cited many reasons for their votes in the EU Referendum last June, though one Question Time audience member's may be the craziest one yet.

During Thursday's (February 2) episode of the show in Wallasey, the panel and audience members were discussing the events leading up to the Brexit vote.

One woman, however, took the time to explain her very specific reason for voting leave, revealing: "I was voting Remain and at the very last minute I changed my decision and I went to Leave.

"And the reason because of that is because I go to a supermarket and the banana is straight. I'm just sick of the silly rules that come out of Europe."

Yep, she really said that.

Host David Dimbleby then prompted the woman to explain a little further, asking her whether bananas had changed since the vote while the audience chuckled.

"If you go Aldi they're a bit bent," the woman added with a laugh, before later clarifying: "It was more than bananas, it's the fact that there's opportunities out there that I feel we need to seize for [the] country."

So it wasn't just "the bananas what did it for [her]" as Dimbleby joked then, and the woman added that she was happy with her vote and the way it turned out.

Still, it is a bit of a bonkers reason to admit to on TV, and since the episode aired earlier this week, people have naturally been talking about the fruity admission:

After all, as Gwen Stefani once said, this s**t is B-A-N-A-N-A-S:

Question Time has thrown up its fair share of wondrous TV moments in the past, most recently a man who subtly performed a finger detaching magic trick on air.

The blink and you'll miss it moment was captured on camera, though the show's Twitter account was adamant that it "does not encourage such behaviour".

Question Time airs Thursdays on BBC One.
