Nothing funnier than a live TV continuity error, is there?
Fans tuning in to ITV tonight for the series finale of The Level were seemingly flummoxed when the continuity announcer introduced another prominent police drama. One that airs on the BBC.
"With scenes from the start that some viewers made find upsetting and strong language, it's the final episode of The Fall," the announcer seemed to say.
It's an easy mistake to make, since The Level is a gritty police drama about a badass female detective tracking a drug trafficker… whereas The Fall is a gritty police drama about a badass female detective tracking a serial killer.
Not that it made the relentless social media mockery sting any less:
Continuity announcer David Johnson later poked fun at his gaffe, tweeting: "That moment when you have a word written in front of your eyes and for no explicable reason your mouth decides it says something else!!! 🤓🤓🤓"

Even though The Fall ended its own run on BBC Two last Friday (October 31), there are already hints that it could return without leading man Jamie Dornan.

"I don't think I'm giving much away in saying it's Jamie's last season," series creator Allan Cubitt said. "But that's not to say that we wouldn't do more of The Fall."
Cubitt also teased: "I do have some thoughts. But I'm quite keen on doing other things as well, so it's not going to be straight away."
There you have it - more of The Level is on the way. Damn, we meant The Fall!
